Arthur Lee Bennett

Arthur Lee Bennett, 83, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Dyersburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation.   Born April 15, 1935, he was the son of the late James William and Jennie Mae Countess Bennett.   Mr. Bennett was a Baptist, a long time farmer in the Bogota Community and after 19 years he retired from Dyersburg Fabrics.                                  

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Jim Chandler. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.                            

Gus Spickes, Billy Brooks, Eugene “Boo” Bennett, Jimmy Chandler, Jeffrey Southerland and Wayne Dew will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Spickes, Chandler Spickes and Evan Spickes.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the funeral home.

He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Bennett of Dyersburg and Gail Chandler (Jimmy) of Mtn. View, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Amanda Presley of Newbern, Christa Spickes (Gus) of Mtn. View, Arkansas and Eugene Bennett (Teresa) of Ridgely; and six great-grandchildren.

 In addition to his parents he was proceded in death by his wife, Ethel “Tootsie” Brimm Bennett; one son, Ronnie Bennett; three sisters, Ruth Pope, Mae Thurmond and Reba Hopper; and two brothers, Carmack Bennett and Ray Bennett.
