David E. Jones

David E. Jones, 84, of Dyersburg, died Friday, May 18, 2018 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional. Born July 15, 1933, he was the son of the late David and Gladys Jones. He was a retired riverboat pilot for Choctaw Transportation and Union Oil for 24 years. He enjoyed fishing with his wife and friends. He was a Korean War veteran.                                      

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2018 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother John Huse Robinson.  Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery in Hornbeak.

Danny Ray Dozier, Wally Childress, John David McCollum, Scott Streeter, Lanny Long and Wade Myers will serve as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends beginning Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

He is survived by one son, David E. Jones, Jr. and wife, Melanie and one granddaughter, Emily Jones, both of Newbern.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ruby E. Jones (04/7/2018) and his brother, Wyatt M. Jones.
