Margie Lee Whittle

Margie Whittle, 88, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.  Born April 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Cora Cook Irvin.  She was retired from Heckethorn Manufacturing Company and Sylvania.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.                                     

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 22, 2018 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Glen Burse with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

 Aron Whittle, Austin Richardson, David Whittle, Tommy Lewis, Parker Harroff, Jason Augustine, Mike Phillips and Jacob Bailey will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral.                                 

She is survived by two sons, Danny Whittle (Donna Ruth) and Gary Whittle (Donna) both of Dyersburg; a daughter, Donna Whittle Lewis (Tommy) of Dyersburg; seven grandchildren, Carol Whittle of Dyersburg, David Whittle (Aime) of Newbern, Emily Lewis Bailey of Memphis, Jessica Lewis Phillips (Mike) of Lexington, Sarah Jane Lewis Augustine (Jason) of Salt Lake City, UT, Paige Whittle Harroff (Parker) of Charlotte, N.C., and Taylor Whittle of Dyersburg; six great-grandchildren, Austin Richardson, Ethan Phillips, Aron Whittle, Addie Yocum, Max Phillips, and Jacob Bailey; one sister, Ida Mae Davis; and two brothers, Bill Irvin and Robert Irvin, all of Friendship.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Clyde Coleman Whittle (12/17/1999).
