Emilie Elise Doss Canada

Emilie Elise Doss Canada, 85, of Caruthersville, MO, formerly of Dyersburg, died Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Southgate Living Center in Caruthersville, MO.  Born September 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Ona Sue Nelson Doss.  She was a homemaker and a member of The Assembly of God Church.                                      

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Brother Mike Young with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.                     

Pallbearers will be Brandon Crews, Justin Bryant, Kenneth Pettie, Eli Moore, Joshua Carter and Roy Macklin. Honorary pallbearer will be Anthony Pettie.  

The family will receive friends Monday, June 19th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.                                    

She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Young (Gene) of Maury City, Farra Carter (Carl) of Newbern, Lois Mowery of Dyersburg; one son, Timothy Kirby (Charlotte) of Union City; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.  

In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Canada; one son, Mark Anthony Crews; one granddaughter, Crystal Dawn Bryant; five sisters, Lillie V. Doss, Lois Blakely, Flossie Doss, Maxine Smith, Mozella Cherry; and two brothers, Willie B Doss and Wesley E. Doss.
