Emma Lee "Polly" Childress Harness

Emma Lee “Polly” Childress Harness, 91, of Dyersburg, died Friday, June 9, 2017 at Dyersburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Born June 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary Strachn Childress.  Polly was a former hairdresser, volunteer of Dyersburg Regional Hospital and retired from Acred Shoe Store. She was a member of Phillips Street Church of Christ.                                        

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.                     

Pallbearers will be Wallace Childress, Tony Childress, Drew Ross, Doug Singleteary, Robert Friedman and Mark Moore.  

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 10th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.                                   

She is survived by her daughter, Sally Harness Cherry of Dyersburg and two grandchildren, Ross Alan Cherry and Ashely Beth Cherry.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Harness (2/26/95) and three brothers, Wilburn Childress, Charles Childress and Don Childress.    

The family requests memorials be directed to Phillips Street Church of Christ.
