Fred Bishop, Jr.

Mr. Fred Bishop, Jr., 78, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional Hospital. Born March 11, 1938, he was the son of Fred and Anna Mable (“Polly”) Bishop. He was a retired truck driver for Brubaker Trucking Company and a member of the Fort Hudson Baptist Church. He loved working in his shop, repairing his mowing equipment and was an avid reader. The love of his life was his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 1, 2016 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Don Layman with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.  

Pallbearers will be Keith Ables, Kevin Ables, Darren Brown, Frankie Webber, Anthony Dean, and Anthony Burns. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Brown, Trevor Brown and Danny Webber.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.

He  is survived by his wife of 42 years Florence Bishop; one son, Terry Brown of Dyersburg, TN; six daughters: Debbie Burns of Dyersburg, TN,  Cheryl Woolery, Susan Zubik, Pat Richouto, Cynthia McCaig all of Chicago, IL and Nancy Rutkosky of Lake Wales, FL. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
