Thelma Laverne White

Thelma L. White, 99, of Finley, died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional Hospital. Born October 14, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Sell and Nellie Epperson Pinkley. She was a homemaker and member of Junction Church of God.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Brother Kenny Chessor and Reverend Robert Craig with interment to follow in Bell’s Chapel Cemetery in Dyer, TN.   

Pallbearers will be Elliott Rogers, Jon Richardson, Scotty Simpson, Terry Simpson, Gary Simpson and Chris Simpson.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 18th at the funeral home.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen Williams of Dyersburg, Kay Simpson of Finley; one son, Thomas White of Finley; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy White; two daughters, Betty Smith and Dorothy White; twin sons ; four sisters, Hazel White, Jettie Epperson, Bertha Turner, Bethel Epperson; and two brothers Leonard Pinkley and Cleo Hunt.
