Clarence Wayne Smith

March 18, 1940 — June 30, 2016

 

Clarence Wayne Smith, 76, of Como, TN, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Camden Heath Care and Rehabitation.  Born March 18, 1940, he was the son of the late Chester Clarence Smith and Zanna Louise Kolwyck.  He attended the Church of Jesus Christ. He was an avid master gardner.

                           

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm. Saturday, July 2, 2016 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Brother Jim Ennis with interment to follow in the Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

 

Pallbearers will be Johnny Smith, Jr., Thomas Smith, Jr., Ronnie Smith, Steve Smith, James Smith, and Mike Harrington. Honorary pallbearers are Clyde Smith, Johnny Smith, Thomas Smith, and Jamie Smith.

 

The family will receive friends Friday, July 1st from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

 

He is survived by four brothers: Clyde Smith of Newbern, TN, Johnny Smith of Dyersburg, TN, Thomas Smith of Tiptonville, TN, and Jamie Smith of McKenzie, TN; and two sisters: Annie Johnson of Tiptonville, TN and Dottie Dycus of Covington, TN.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death four brothers: Odell Smith, Otis Smith, Bobby Smith, and Billy Ray Smith; he was also preceded in death by his sister Becky Smith.
