Jerry P. Putman, 72, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Tennova Healthcare – Dyersburg Regional. Born February 4, 1943 in Dyersburg, TN, he was the son of the late Richard Samuel and Nina Florence Pylent Putman. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ and retired Utility Maintenance for Grady Gentry and City of Dyersburg.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Jerry Stafford with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Smith, Larry Putman, Danny Fowlkes, Jake Cagle, Justin Decker and Joseph Rogers.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 10th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Riggs Putman; 3 daughters, Patricia Millner (Mark) of Dyersburg, Nancy Dial (Donnie) of Newbern, Kerri Stafford (Jerry) of Lenox; 1 son, Jerry Wayne “Pete” Putman (Tammy) of Newbern; 1 sister, Beverly Brooks of Dyersburg; 6 grandchildren, Chrissy Davis of Fredonia, KS, Joey Dial of Murfreesboro, TN, and Jessica Putman, Jennifer Putman, Erin Shelby Stafford and Dylan Riley all of Dyersburg; and 3 great-grandchildren, Whitney Davis, Kaitlyn Davis and Leigh Ann Davis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Hortie Putman, Minnie Stone, Mattie Donaldson, Annie King and 4 brothers, Marvin Putman, Junior Elvis Putman, James Putman and George Putman.
