Rachel Henson, 70, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional. Born July 12, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathleen Evans Sanders. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Ronnie Sanders with interment to follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Biggers, Little Phillip Henson, Nick Sampson, J. L. Wilson, Mike Henson and Tommy Henson. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Biggers, Dallas Henson, Ronnie Cole and Bobby Anthony. The family will receive friends Monday, November 30th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Biggers (Mike) of Dyersburg; 2 sons, Keith Henson of Dyersburg, Phillip Henson (Anna) of Troy; 2 sisters, Geraldine Anthony of Newbern, Mary Sanders of Trimble; 5 brothers, Wayne Sanders, Ricky Sanders, J.R. Sanders, all of Dyersburg, Bobby Sanders of Newbern, Gene Sanders of Memphis; 10 great-grandchildren, Makayla Briggs, Marleigh Pettie, Kenneth Pettie, Jr., Destani Pettie, Noah Pettie, Gradin Bailey, Skyler McCaig, Camerson McCaig, Aiden McCaig and Justice McCaig; 10 grandchildren, Cortney Pettie, Casey Bailey, Jessica McCaig, Brandon Biggers, Bradley Biggers, Dallas Henson, Madison Henson, Phillip Henson, Adam Henson and Mallory Biggers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Jackie Henson; 1 great grandson, Jonathan Briggs, 1 sister, Pam Rogers; and 1 brother, Jimmy Dan Sanders.
The family requests memorials be directed to the Community Cancer Fund, PO Box 1055, Dyersburg, TN 38025-1055.
