Laverne Moody

Laverne Moody, 93, of Dyersburg, died Friday, September 18, 2015 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was born June 7, 1922 to the late Captain James and Minnie Taylor, she was the former Administrator of the Dyer County Election Commission. She was a member of Finley United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, MO conducted by Pastor Marti Jeffers. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Moody family will receive friends Monday, September 21st from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Finley United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son Jimmy Moody and wife Anna, of Dyersburg; 2 grandchildren, Mark Korn and wife Holly of Dyersburg, Nikki Jenson and husband Steve of Chatham, NJ; and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 7 sisters and brothers. The family requests memorials be directed to Finley United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 24, Finley, TN 38030.
