Velma Marie Lizenbee Jones Allen, 90, of Dyersburg, died Monday, September 14, 2015 at her daughter's home in Millersville, MO. She was born in Parma, MO on April 21, 1925 to the late Fred Lizenbee and Ella Hoss Lizenbee. Velma was a very loving lady who had a contagious smile that showed she loved people and life. She worked in the public most of her life because she enjoyed being around people. Velma enjoyed being with her family, especially all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very active in her church and loved the social circle at St. Joseph's Manor where she lived for the past 5 years. Every Thursday morning would find her at the Activity Center playing bingo and fellowshipping with friends. She was married to James Jones until his death in 1977 and remarried to Milford Allen in 1986, until his death in 2005. Funeral services for Mrs. Allen will be at 12 noon Wednesday, September 16, 2015, in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Loren Stephens.
