Katie Johnson

Katie Johnson, 49, of Newbern, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Dr. D. B. Haynes. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Joe Robitaille, Jeremy Robitaille, Lee Robitaille, Jeff Waller, Tom Hayes, John Young, Kenny Cogdill and Chuck Asa. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Wood and Brian Warner. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 3rd from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. She is survived by her grandson, Aiden Major; her husband, Stephen Johnson; 1 daughter, Kimberly Major (Zachary) of Newbern; 2 brothers, Jr. Quinton, Jamie Quinton (Cindy) of Trenton; Mother-in-law, Doris Parham of Dyersburg; her best friend, Judy Hamil of Union City; her sister-in-law, Teresa Robitaille of KY; Nieces, Chloe Wood (Josh) of Dyersburg, Skyla Matousek of Trenton, Tammy Quniton of MS, Candace Quinton of Jackson, Ashley Quinton; nephews, Michael Quinton (Jennifer) of LA, Joe Robitaille (Holly) of Murfreesboro, Jeremy Robitaille (Rachel) of Murfreesboro, Caleb Quinton of Trenton, and great-nieces, Kinlee Sharp and Aubrey Wood, of Dyersburg, Cheyenne Quinton, Emily Quinton and Hannah Quinton, all of LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margie & W.J. Taylor and her brother Ricky Dale Quinton.
