Carole Ozment Whitnel

Carole Ozment Whitnel, 61, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at her residence. Born January 24, 1954 to the late William F. and Marilynn Lanier Ozment, she was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. Carole was the former bookkeeper with Tennessee Tractor, Ag Center and Ozment Implement. Graveside services for Mrs. Whitnel will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015 at Fairview Cemetery conducted by Reverend Robert Craig and Reverend Dell King. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Danny Echols, Brad Glass, Danny Marberry, Gary McBride, Shawn Todd and Chris Wilson. The Whitnel family will receive friends Friday, August 28th beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 pm at the funeral home. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Whitnel; 2 daughters, Lara Burkhart and husband, Chad of Corpus Christi, TX, Mary Whitnel of Murfreesboro; her son, Price Whitnel of Martin ; her brother Billy Ozment and wife Karen, of Dyersburg; 2 step-daughters, Jane Carolyn Whitnel McNamara and husband Ian of Franklin, Rebecca Whitnel of Memphis; 3 grandchildren, Austin, Taylor and Elizabeth Burkhart and 3 step-grandchildren, Robert Wight, Kayla Holder and Colin McNamara. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Clay Moore and her sister, Jane Ozment.
