Dorothy Lay Cantrell

Dorothy Lay Cantrell, 86, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was born May 25, 1928 to the late Daniel and Myrtle Eaton Lay. She was a member of Calvary Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Cantrell was retired from Sylvania. Funeral services for Mrs. Cantrell will be at 2:00 p. m. Monday, May 18, 2015 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend David Brooks. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Brett Cantrell, Kyle Cantrell, Tim Dew, Matthew Humphrey, Justin Humphrey, Tucker Humphrey and Noel Walker. The family will receive friends Monday, May 18th beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time. She is survived by her son, Gary Cantrell (Sheba) of Murfreesboro; one sister, Leo Hunt of Jackson; sister-in-law, Rachel Lay of Dyersburg; three brothers, Cleo Lay (Bonnie), Daniel P. Lay (Rubye Lee), both of Bogota; Billy Lay of Texas; two grandsons, Kyle Cantrell (Kristin) and Brett Cantrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley L.
