Betty Sue Putman

Betty Sue Putman, 91, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at her residence. She was born August 5, 1923 to the late John Thomas and Lillie Gertrude Hester Canada, Sr. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sellers Sunday School class, Salt & Pepper Senior group and the Senior Circle. She was a homemaker. Funeral services for Mrs. Putman will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Dr. Aubrey Hay, Dr. David Russell and Reverend Dell King. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Jim Bane, Lowell Beck, James Cooper, Jere Ozment, John Palmer, Bill Revell, George Robertson, John Talley, Jack Todd and Raney Webb. The family will receive friends Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home. She is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Putman Tuller of Munford, Marjorie P. Kiwala of Dyersburg; 3 grandchildren, Tim Robertson, Jeri Lynn Taylor, Jennifer Hayes, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William Thomas Putman; her sister, Loraine Canada; and two brothers, John T. Canada, Jr. and Harold Hester Canada.
