Willie Edward Johnson

Willie E. Johnson, 94, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at The Highlands of Dyersburg. He was born July 5, 1920 to the late Jim and Esther Creasy Johnson. He was a machinist at Dyersburg Fabrics and a member of East Dyersburg Pentecostal Church. He was an Army WWII veteran. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend John Morris. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Dusty Adams, Glenn Thompson, Ronnie Patton, Brandon Johnson, Steve Walker, and Lynn Parker. Honorary pallbearer will be James Earl Johnson and Robert Riggs. Visitation will be Friday, February 27th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home. He is survived by his daughter, Odessa Johnson Petty (Dale) of Dyersburg; his son, Steve Johnson (Gayla) of Newbern; 2 grandchildren, Heather Adams of Trimble, Brandon Johnson of Newbern; and 1 great-grandchild, Layla Adams of Trimble. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel A. Johnson (1998); 2 sisters, Nona Alsup, Bessie Blackwell; and 2 brothers Bob Johnson and Newt Johnson.
