Lucille Sawyer Stephens

Mrs. Lucille Sawyer Stephens, 102, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was born May 9, 1912 to the late Toy Dempsey and Mary Etta Arendall Sawyer. She was a homemaker and member of Ft. Hudson Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, January 26, 2015 conducted by Reverend Don Layman. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Sawyer, Mike Stephens, Jeff Layman, Keith Lovins, Ronnie Sanders and Phillip Daniels. Visitation will be Sunday, January 25th from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. She is survived by her 2 sons Arlie Stephens, Jr., and James Stephens (Betty), both of Dyersburg; 1 sister Lela Bell Stafford of Trenton; 1 brother Joe Sawyer of Hobart, Indiana; 3 grandchildren, Mike Stephens, Donna Sanders (Ronnie), Bonnie Reed (Joey); 5 great-grandchildren, Ashley Lovins (Keith), Kelley Sanders, Madison Reed (Brianna), Morgan Reed, Mallory Reed and 1 great-great-grandson, Brady Keith Lovins. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arlie Stephens, Sr. (1983); 4 sisters Mary Nail, Beulah Pounders, Virginia Hall, Amanda Hatch and 4 brothers Jim Sawyer, Raymond Sawyer, Wilmer "Doc" Sawyer and Will Sawyer.
