Bonnie Kemp Lay

Bonnie Kemp Lay, 90, of Bogota, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Dyersburg Manor.  Born June 18, 1931, she is the daughter of the late Marvin and Radie Kemp.  She was an active member of Calvary Chapel Baptist Church where she served at Treasurer for 38 years.  Mrs. Lay taught Sunday School for many years and was also coordinator for the children’s Christmas programs.  She retired from Heckethorn Manufacturing in 1995.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 in the Dyersburg Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Dennis Lemons with interment to follow in New Haven Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.  

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Lay Dew (Ronnie) of Dyersburg; and grandson, Tim Dew of Dyersburg.    

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Cleo “Toby” Lay; one sister, Ruth Abel; and three brothers, Marvin Kemp, Raymond Kemp and Joseph Kemp.
