Carolyn Sue Walton

Carolyn Sue Walton, 74, of Dyersburg, died Monday, August 23, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.  Born February 3, 1947, she is the daughter of the late James Cox Hampton and Willie Mae Yance Dickson. She was a devout Catholic.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Father Patrick Hirtz with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Her family will serve as pallbearers.

She is survived by three daughters, Sherri Peterson (Marty) of Bartlett, IL, Jennifer Sutton (Steven) of Elgin, IL, Alicia Dorado (Antonio) of Plainfield, IL; one son Patrick Walton (Melissa) of Maricopa, AZ; seven grandchildren, Antonio DiCosola, Edgar Dorado, Samuel Dorado, Matthew Dorado, Patrick Walton, Christina Peterson, Jocelynn Sutton; two step-grandchildren; and two half-sisters, Shirley Dycus of Ripley and Lisa Lancaster of Kenton.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Andrew Walton. 

The family requests memorials be directed to Holy Angels Catholic Church, 535 Tucker Street, Dyersburg, TN  38024.
