Charlene Therese Bailey

April 5, 1937 — August 27, 2021

Charlene Therese Bailey, age 84 of Dyersburg, passed away on August 27, 2021 at 12:30pm.  She was born and raised in Chicago, IL.  Mrs. Bailey attended Divine Savior High School and Junior College in Milwaukee, WI.  She graduated from Alverno College of Music in Milwaukee, WI with a double major in Music Education and Liturgical Music.  Her performance areas were organ and voice.  Mrs. Bailey was an elementary and high school teacher for 22 years.  She was also a church organist/choir director for most of her life.

Survivors include a daughter, Kari Ruthann Bernier (Brandon) of Dyersburg and a son, Kevin Walter Bailey of Dyersburg; grandchildren Nathaniel Sterling Bernier of Dyersburg, Emily Anne Simpson (Stephen) of Nashville, TN and James William Bailey of Dyersburg; sisters Marilyn Falkowski of Greenfield, WI, Deanna Olejniczak (James) of Mosinee, WI, Judith Pizon (Phillip) of Schaumburg, IL; nieces Cathy Mueller (Bob) of Boise, ID, Patricia Prange (Curt) of Muskego, WI, Lisa Waddell (Bryan) of Schaumburg, IL, Mary Yach (Randy) of Mosinee, WI and nephews, Thomas Falkowski (Denise) of Tomahawk, WI, Jeffrey Pizon of Schaumburg, IL, Michael Pizon (Melody) of Lake in the Hills, IL, David Olejniczak (Lynn) of Roseville, MN, Brian Olejniczak (Melissa) of Pleasanton, CA, Mark Olejniczak (Beth) of Wausau, WI and fourteen great-nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by lifelong friend Sirkka-Liisa Lehti Waller of Lahti, Finland. 

Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Dr. James S. Bailey, and her parents, Walter Stanley Sitkowski and Anne Esther Sitkowski of Wausau, WI. 

Private funeral services will be held. 

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the Dyersburg-Dyer County Humane Society, P.O. Box 223, Dyersburg, TN 38025 or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.

The family would like to thank Dr. David Guthrie, Brett and Stephanie for many years of care and concern.  They would also like to thank Avalon Hospice, Tennessee Quality Hospice and Extendicare Home Health for their excellent care over the years of both Dr. and Mrs. Bailey.
