Danny Newman

Danny Newman, 66, of Dyersburg, died Monday, April 15, 2019 at his residence. Born March 14, 1953, he was the son of the late George Washington and Allie Mae Gipson Newman. He was owner of Newman’s Excavating. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2019 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Mac Daniels with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 17th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He is survived by Jeri Newman and four daughters, Cindy Newman Calhoun (Andy) of Lakeland, Patty Newman Rogers (Josh) of Dyersburg, Paula Newman Cremeans (Matthew) of North Carolina; Sara Newman Hardee (Jeremy) of Ripley; ten grandchildren, Garrett, Gunnar and Samuel Grant Rogers, Hadley and Rylee Hardee, Makinley and Sydney McCutchen, Luke and Quinn Cremeans and Emma Calhoun. Sylvester Simpson, Gene Whitney, Thomas Rigsby, James Bunn, Jerry Alexander, Terry Brown, Larry Newsom and Roy Jelks will serve as pallbearers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Hubble, Ester Howell, Florence Thorpe and three brothers, Jerry Campbell, Lee Newman and Freddie Sparks.
