Dorothy Mae Johnson

Dorothy Nale Johnson, 92, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Born in the Beaver Arm Community September 1, 1927, she is the daughter of the late Edward Wilson and Nettie Mae Murray Nale. She was a retired cook at Dyersburg State Community College.  Mrs. Johnson was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m.  Sunday, August 30, 2020 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Ronnie Turner with interment to follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

She is survived by her two sons, Eddie Johnson (Joan) of Prattville, AL, Harold Johnson of Dyersburg; one sister, Elizabeth Headrick of Gulfport, MS; four grandchildren, Shawn Johnson (Tammy), David Wise (Denise), John Johnson, Abby Johnson and seven great-grandchildren.

Shawn Johnson, David Wise, Jackson Wise, Dwight Gregory, Rodney Headrick and Jeffery Lay will serve as pallbearers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Johnson; three sisters, Hester Kennedy, Hazel Gregory Edwards, Rachel Lay; and two brothers, Woodrow Nale and Homer Nale.
