Frances J. Rogers

Frances Rogers, 92, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, December 22, 2019 at AHC Dyersburg. Born April 29, 1927, she is the daughter of the late Johnny and Dovie Stokes Wright. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church where she devoted many years teaching young children in Sunday School. Frances retired from Heckethorn Manufacturing Company. She was the oldest of nine children and all of her siblings called her “Sis”. “MeMa” was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her grandchildren and herself. Keeping her yard neat was also a favorite pastime.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2019 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Dr. Cory D. Williams with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 26th beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

She is survived by two sons, Frank Rogers (Pat) of Dyersburg, Don Rogers (Pam) of Newbern; four grandchildren, Stacy Atwood, Tracy Buford (Clay), Tiffany Dondanville, (Chris) Jeffrey Rogers ; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Matlock of Counce; Tina Perciful (Ronnie) of Collierville; and one brother, Homer Wright (Dorothy) of Humboldt.

Clay Buford, Gene Hall, Chris Dondanville, Jimmy Holden, Jeff Rogers and Ben Dondanville will serve as pallbearers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Rogers; two sisters, Joyce Steel, Bonnie Null; and three brothers, Dink Wright, Charles Wright and Austin Wright.
