Gary Wayne Clayton

Gary Wayne Clayton, 71, of Ridgley, died Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in Lauderdale Community Hospital in Ripley. Born March 19, 1949, he is the son of the late Hershell and Brooksie Crocker Clayton.  

Though he farmed many years, he retired from Georgia Gulf in Tiptonville and was a member of Willingham Baptist Church.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Clayton will be conducted Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Curry Funeral Home-Ridgley Chapel officiated by Bro. Charles Southerland. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers are Bo Lamb, Russell Hopper, Ricky Choate, Gary Southerland, Mark Choate, Jimmy “Bubba” Choate and Terry Johnson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Pierce, Larry Hopper and Roger Clayton.  

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Judy Choate Clayton of Ridgley; his son, Chad Clayton and wife Carolyn of Ridgely as well as granddaughter, his, “Baby Girl”, Kabreonna Clayton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Dewayne Clayton.
