Ike Peel, III

Ike Peel, III, 72, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Methodist LeBonheur Germantown. Born May 25, 1946, he was the son of the late Ike and Judy Peel. Ike was a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the Army National Guard, serving his country for 37 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He is the director of Dyer County Office on Aging, President of West Tennessee Seniors Golf Association, member of the Dyersburg Golf Association and a board member for the Tennessee Senior Olympics. Ike’s father instilled the love of golf at a very young age, and he continued to enjoy golf daily.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2019 at First United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Ed White and Reverend Dell King with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 6th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky Peel; his daughter, Mary Beth Peel Perry (Jason Marbrey) of Dyersburg; his sister, Becky Peel Cupples of Clinton; one step-daughter, Victoria Ashley Smith (Kevin) of Trinidad, CO; one step-son, Charles Casey Buckingham (Megan) of Dyersburg; one grandson, Hunter Wayne Perry of Murray, KY; two step-grandchildren, Benjamin Buckingham and Lillian Buckingham, of Dyersburg; two nephews, Mark Cupples (Kelly) of Cornelius, NC, Mitch Cupples (Karen) of Clinton; and four great-nieces.

David Seaton, Benny Spain, J.D. Stephens, Pat English, Casey Buckingham and Moe Blalock will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jubilate Deo Sunday School Class and Thomas Boals.
