James Louis Smith

James Louis Smith, 75, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, February 3, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare – Dyersburg. Born September 21, 1943, he was the son of the late Arlie Bright and Evelyn Estelle Mills Smith. He was retired from Hexpol and was a member of The Church of Christ.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Zion Cemetery in Elbridge officiated by Brother Greg Smith and Bro. John Wayne Fowler.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 5th from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Paulette “ Pat” Smith; three daughters, Roxanne Goodman of Bogota, Cynthia Sipes of Dyersburg, Gina Pitt of Guntersville, AL; one step-daughter, Missy Henderson of Troy; one son, Timothy Smith of Milan; two step-sons, Kevin Sanders of Dyersburg, Bart Sanders of Newbern; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Smith of Hornbeak.

Darrell Smith, Brian Stout, Brad Tubbs, Chad Tubbs, Eric Tubbs and Mike Smith will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Warren, Kurt Sanders and Kaleb Pitt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Simpson and two brothers, Gerald Smith and Gene Smith.
