Jere T. Kirk

Jere T. Kirk, 86, of Dyersburg, died Monday, June 10, 2019 at his residence. Born October 27, 1932 in Lenox, he was the son of the late Lear and Virginia Kirk. Jere proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and afterwards attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. He and his family were members of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church. He was a real estate developer, farmer and land owner. Jere loved his family and was a friend to all. He enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery officiated by Reverend Ed White. Friends are asked to gather at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 12th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by two daughters, Jenny Kirk of Memphis, Melinda Kirk Mason (Dan) of Chattanooga; one son, Steve Kirk of Jackson; six grandchildren, Caleb Kirk (Kelly), Joshua Kirk, Andrea Kirk, Katie Ferley (Justin), Sarah Mason, Kirk Mason; one sister, Jane Chapman (Jerry) of Hopkinsville, KY; and one brother, Bob Kirk (Carol) of Dyersburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Anne Kirk and their daughter, Deborah Jane “Debbie” Kirk.

Barry Cole, Preston Dickerson, Ralph Henson, Jimmy Moody, Brad Studard, Chris Young, Randal Harris and Charlie Dunn will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John Palmer, Woody Clifton, Tyles Davenport, Bob Newbill and Johnny Mack Palmer.
