Jerry Ray Brewer

Jerry Brewer, 80, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, January 22, 2023 at his residence. Jerry was born the youngest of four to Neva and Oscar Brewer on October 18, 1942. In his younger years he proudly boxed in the golden gloves. In 1963 he married the love of his life Caroline Brewer and they built a beautiful life together. They raised 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. Through the years they had many great adventures water skiing, flying, and dancing. From a very young age, he knew he wanted to be in construction. He started and successfully ran his own construction company, working up until his death. He was always a fighter and he fought a valiant fight to the end.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Phillip Cook.

Ray Davis, Willie Davis, Tommy Davis, Kenneth Brasfield, Billy Walker and Marty Moody will be serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 26th beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Caroline, daughters Debbie DeBenedictis & Donna Middleton (David), grandchildren Allison DeBenedictis (Juan Mata) Ashley DeBenedictis, and Jonathan Middleton, and sisters Jean Copeland and Evelyn Chandler.

He was proceeded in death by his mother Neva Brewer, father, Oscar Brewer, and brother Billy Brewer.

The family requests memorials be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Jerry’s family would like to issue a special thanks to the doctors and staff at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
