Joan Lamb

Joan Lamb, 81, of Newbern, died Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at her residence.  Born October 24, 1942, she is the daughter of the late Melvin Taft and Ruby Inez Yancey Lamb.  She was a member of McCullough Chapel Baptist Church and was an avid horse lover.  Ms. Joan lived for riding her horses and her church.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Eddie Wilbanks with interment to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Woodville Church Cemetery in Haywood County.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 20^th beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Michael McCaslin, Lewis Anderson, Terry Lynn Brown, Mike Rinks, Jeremiah Brown, David Oxley and Adam Oxley will be serving as pallbearers.

She is survived by her sister, Laura Patterson of Dyer; her soul-son, Michael McCaslin and his son Curtis; her soul-daughter, Jeannie Lewis Reeder and her sons, Luke and Josh; two nieces, Heather Rinks (Mike), Dacey Goodlett; and two nephews, Terry Lynn Brown (Amy) and Marty Lamb (Jennifer).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Lester “Butch” Lamb.

The family requests memorials be directed to McCullough Chapel Baptist Church, 1149 N. Walker Lane, Dyersburg TN  38024.
