Johnny Harold Long

Johnny Harold Long, 68, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, July 4,2021 at his residence. Born March 28, 1953 on Hardison Street in Ridgely, he is the son of the late Clyde Long and Marie Gray Long. After age five he was raised by his aunt and uncle, Howard and Lucille Barnes. He was a 1970 graduate of Lake County High school where he played football and was a member of the band. He was also a member of Ridgley First Baptist Church.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 8,2021, at Fairview Cemetery conducted by Pastor Ronnie Turner. Friends and family are asked to gather at the cemetery.

He is survived by wife Sherry Spain Long, grandson Travis Shane Peevyhouse, step-son Travis Wayne Peevyhouse, step-daughter Jill Suzanne Peevyhouse, Alleah Peevyhouse; one sister Wanda (Tony) Leake and one brother Johnny (Marilyn) Barnes; niece, Andrea (Patrick) Evans, beloved Aunt Flossie Rhodes of Tiptonville and many cousins and friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by aunts and uncles, brother Randy Long; sisters Carol Burns andTina McElyea.
