MacRee "Mac" Laverne Twilla

MacRee “Mac” L. Twilla, 86, of Dyersburg, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 10, 2022.  Born December 24, 1935, she is the daughter of the late Mary Ann Dawson and Ernest Rupert Graves. Mac was an avid gardener making sure Wesley Homes entrance was immaculate.  She was known as the cook and caretaker of B Building friends at Wesley Homes. She was most proud of her Beauty Spot of the Month Award she received in 2015.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Carmon Dennison and Chaplain Jessie Hopkins with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Honoring Mac as pallbearers will be Steven Brown, Jr., David Brown, Garrett Garner, Kurt Garner, Jake Garner, Ed Gonzalez and Tony Daniels. Honorary pallbearers will be Friends at Wesley Homes.

The family will receive friends Thursday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

She is survived by her three daughters, Beverly Ray (Mike), Judy Long (Roger), both of Dyersburg,  Donna Brown (Steve) of Bogota; three sons, Gleyn Twilla (Patricia), Butch Garner (Diana), both of Dyersburg, Kenneth Twilla (Dana) of Caruthersville, MO; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Hendrix, Ernestine Muth, both of Louisville, KY, Christine Bell of Henderson, Rebecca Vernon of Dyersburg; one brother, Robert Graves of Jackson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Twilla and two sisters, Sandra Hurst and Jean King.

The family requests memorials be directed to Miston Baptist Church, 205 Miston Tank Road, Ridgely TN  38080.
