Martha Marie Jones

Martha (Dee Dee) Jones, 88, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, November 4, 2021 at AHC of Dyersburg.  Born August 14, 1933, she is the daughter of the late Effie Mae Holland and Samuel Houston Wyatt.

Martha spent her life caring for her family and others. She loved her family and their pets. With kindness and a ready smile, she was loved by all. Her hobbies were reading, crafts and growing flowers. A beach lover, she enjoyed collecting shells on the sunny beaches of Florida during the time she lived there. Dee Dee was the last surviving member of nine siblings. She looked forward to visits with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death not only by her parents but by her sisters: Helen Thompson, Willie Lou Curtis, Flossie Garrett, Callie Coble, Artie Sue Britton; and her brothers Frank Wyatt, Herman Wyatt and Jim Wyatt.

Visitation for Mrs. Jones will be held Sunday November 7, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00

in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home. Funeral services officiated by Brother Clyde Thompson, Jr. will be at 3:00 with interment to follow in Friendship Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter Rose Lummus (Donald), her son Chris Jones (Ashley); her grandchildren Brooke Wright, Eric Lummus, Oistin Jones, Gracie Roberts and Gavin Spires; and great-grandchildren Mason Wright and Anne Elise Wright.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Jones, George Epperson, Ricky McLaughlin, Bryan Jones, Jimmy Anderson, and Elijah Taylor.

The family requests memorials be directed to Parrish Chapel Baptist Church, 354 Parrish Chapel Road, Friendship, TN 38034.
