Melinda Banks

Melinda Banks, 79, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare – Dyersburg. Born December 20, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Thomas Virgil Banks and Stella Jane Hulen Porter. Melinda was a member of Dyersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was an avid pet lover and was retired in the field of pet breeder and groomer. She loved all types of music, loved to dance and loved her family fiercely, especially her precious granddaughter, Sandra.

She is survived by her two daughters, Eloise Casey (Robert), Paula Powell, both of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Sandra Jane Powell, Fernando Caloca-Powell and Brock Michael Gammons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Cassandra (Sandy) Banks; two brothers, Thomas “Tommy” Bruce Banks, Charles William Banks and her step-mother Jeanne Sorrell Banks.
