Mona Higginbotham, 66, of Jackson, formerly of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at her residence. She was born June 14, 1955 to the Jimmy and Margaret Fossey. Mona was a former Special Education teacher at Dyer County High School, former real estate agent with Tennessee Realty and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. Mona never met a stranger, helped those she could, and believed in everybody. Her love and kindness for children were always at the forefront throughout her life. Educator, real estate agent, family friend, supporter, believer, wife but always forever Mom.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Courtney Bowen with interment to follow in New Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Kenton.
Bryan Byrd, Matt Williams, Chris Gregory, Russ Chessor, Matt Boals and Connor Ladd will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, May 9th beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Higginbotham; her daughter, Laura Higginbotham Byrd (Bryan) of Jackson; her son, Chris Davis (Tayler) of Trimble; two sisters, Joan Williams (Blake) of Jackson, Carolyn Copeland (Tommy) of Somerville; her brother, Dewey Green of Jackson; and three grandchildren, Andrew Patrick, Lily Byrd and Anna Leigh Byrd.
