Marjorie Ann Blaylock

Marjorie Ann Childress Blaylock, 87, of New Port Richey, FL died March 11, 2020 at Saint Petersburg, FL. Born October 13, 1932, she is the daughter of the late Cletus Fayne Childress and Gladys Hera Olive. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Clearwater, FL, a member of the Florida Association of the deaf, an avid gardener, a seamstress. Two of Marjorie’s favorite pastimes were bird watching and furniture restoration. Having been deaf since childhood, Marjorie devoted a lot of time raising funds for the deaf community—especially deaf children. She was an employee of the U.S. Post Office for 28 years.

Graveside services were held Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery, Dyersburg officiated by Mr. Bill Parmenter.

She is survived by three daughters: Linda Kay Byars of Clearwater, FL, Carol Ann Frazier and husband Scott of Maryland and Bettye Sue Bedwell of Memphis, TN; five grandsons: James Stephen Welden, John Andrew Welden, Robert Christopher Welden, Charles Scott Frazier IV, and Lee Carter Frazier; one granddaughter, Hope Elizabeth Welden Robbins; and, three great-grandchildren.

Scott Frazier, Charles Frazier and Carter Frazier served as pallbearers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Wesley Blaylock, Jr.
