Sue Sykes, 91, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at AHC of Dyersburg. Born June 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Newt and Annie May Killett Styers. She was retired from Sara Lee Corporation in Deerfield, IL. She was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Nathe Ozment with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Simbeck of Lawrenceburg; two sons, Danny Welch (Pam) of Lenox, James Welch of Sevierville; ten grandchildren, Brandy Williams, Jenny Arguello, John Welch, Michael Welch, Kelly Welch (Tabatha), Tonya Gordon (Blake), Stephanie Grimes (Christian), Shelton Simbeck, Ryan Sykes, Penny Welch; eleven great-grandchildren, Jordan Welch, Jeffrey Welch, Gracie Welch, Dalton Arguello, Timmy Williams, Kaylee Arguello, Landon Sykes, Damian Gordon, Justus Welch, Bella Welch and Kyle Welch and three great-great-grandchildren. Grandsons and great-grandsons Kelly Welch, Michael Welch, John Welch, Shelton Simbeck, Christian Grimes, Jordan Welch, Dalton Arguello, Timmy Williams and Jeffery Welch will serve as pallbearers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Sykes; her son, Timothy Sykes; grandson, Brian Welch; three sisters, Frances Chidress, Rebecca Reed, Geneva Mosier; and three brothers, James Styers, Billy Bob Styers and J.C. “Foot” Styers.
