Verlon Hill

Verlon L. Hill, 83, of Newbern, died Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at her residence.  She was the daughter of the late Grover and Emmie Chumney Bates.  She was retired from Tupperware and a member of Phillips Street Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2022 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Mark Anderson with interment to follow in Palestine Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are David Young, Bryan French, Preston Hill, Braxton Hill, Matthew Readenour, Kyle Moore and Kenny Goodman.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, January 23^rd beginning at 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home.

She is survived by her son, Kerry Hill (Teresa) of Newbern; her sister, Violet Goodman of Parsons; four grandchildren, Preston Hill, Braxton Hill, Samantha French, Matthew Readenour; and three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Hill, Parker Hill and Henry French.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Hill; her son, Randy Hill; one sister, Helen Wyrick and three brothers, Clifford Bates, Barney Bates and Mayon Bates.
