Wanda G. Brewer

April 7, 1940 — October 23, 2021

Wanda G. Brewer, 81, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, October 23, 2021 at her residence.    Born April 7, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Lurlene Lowery Gibson. Wanda was an administrative assistant at Tupperware until she retired at the age of 38, to become a full time Mom. She married her childhood sweetheart, Billy F. Brewer on Valentine’s Day in 1959 and they shared 58 wonderful years together. They loved golfing together with close friends. She was also an avid tennis player for many years. In her later years, Wanda enjoyed working with her daughter, Jane, at Cricket Corner. Her great love extended, not only to her children and grandchildren, but to the community of family and friends of Halls and Dyersburg. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Nathe Ozment with private interment to follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The Brewer family will receive friends Monday, October 25, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the church.

Blake Brewer, Alex Brewer, Will Bradshaw, Miller Lane, Shawnee Brasfield and Chip Worley will serve as pallbearers.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane B. Bradshaw (Walt) of Dyersburg; her son, Jeff L. Brewer (Pam) of Halls; one brother, Larry Gibson (Jane) of Dyersburg and four grandchildren, Blake Brewer (Lacee) of Dyersburg, Anna Claire Bradshaw Lane (Miller) of Dyersburg, Will Bradshaw (Maxine), of Ponte Vedra, FL and Alex Brewer of Tiptonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Billy F. Brewer and her brother, Jerry Gibson.

The family requests memorials be directed to Transitions of Dyer County, P.O. Bo 265, Dyersburg, TN  38025-0265.
