William Earl Ables, 91, of Dyersburg, died November 10, 2019 at Maple Ridge Assisted Living. Born October 29, 1928, he is the son of the late William Oscar and Mary Etta Cain Ables and step-father, Palmer Ables. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a member of Buck Tarpley’s Life Group. Mr. Ables proudly served his country in the Air Force. He was a life member of Roberts Lodge #172 in Fulton, KY and a member of Al Menah Shriners Temple in Nashville.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2019 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Mike Hickman. Interment will be in Gibson County Memory Gardens at 3:00 pm.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 12th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Buck Tarpley’s Life Group will serve as honorary pallbearers.
He is survived by his wife of over 70 years Wylodean Ables; his son, Bill Ables (Susan) of Dyersburg; two grandchildren, Samantha Lewis (Toma) and Laura Harris; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Waylon Lewis; two sisters, Euna Murray (Hubert) of Nacogdoches, MS, Doris Jobe of Florida; and one brother, Charles Elmo Ables (Linda) of Trenton.
The family requests memorials be directed to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
