Bess Cooper Westmoreland, 81, of Dyersburg died Monday, November 24, 2014 at The Highlands of Dyersburg. She was voted Teacher of the Year while teaching in Hobart, Indiana and an avid member of Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Brother Billy Tucker. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jay Litchford, Brandon Litchford, Albert Jones, Tommy Jones, Kevin Hicks and Mark Mallory. She is survived by her grandson Todd Westmoreland (Susan) of Westville, Indiana; two sisters, Carolyn Hicks and Nancy Hames, both of Dyersburg; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Parker Westmoreland of Westville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Westmoreland, Jr., her son Danny Westmoreland and her parents Luther and Valda Cooper.
